Game Dog Guardian. It’s Our Turn To Fight For Them.
Education and Resources
Over the last few weeks, Game Dog Guardian has been blessed with media interest in finding homes for the Montgomery County dogs. The news stories are linked below. Special thanks to Pinups for Pitbulls for sponsoring the dogs moved to shelters and rescue!
The Animal Legal Defense Fund wrote an amazing article on the animal cruelty case and the efforts of Game Dog Guardian and was a tremendous help in getting the word out about these amazing dogs.
Pictured to the left is Kali Kangaroo. Kali is a 1 year old bouncy and curious female. She needs a home where she can get plenty of exercise...and also plenty of love. Her favorite thing to do when she's not running and jumping is to gently give you a hug and rest her head in your hands.
KMBC News in Kansas City wrote a nice article mirroring the efforts of the Animal Legal Defense Fund in helping to find the dogs homes.
Suzie Shortcake is in the photo to the right. Shortcake is still quite fearful, but once she is out and playing, she opens up quite a bit. She is approximately 3 years old and needs a quiet stable home environment to blossom in. Shortcake loves to play frisbee and is learning how to walk on a leash. She is a great listener and will make a great family dog.
The Lawrence-Journal World and Channel 6 visited the dogs this week and interviewed Game Dog Guardian Founder and Director, Anthony Barnett. They shot excellent video of Ernie and Hercules.
Pictured to the left is Ernie, a 1 year old male. Ernie is goofy and endearing. He loves to run and play tag with dogs through the fence. When Ernie feels the human touch, he simply melts. Ernie is still young and has a lot of energy, but is also ready to settle down and be loved.
Fox 4 from Kansas City rebroadcasted their original story from November to help get the word out and get the dogs into homes. Tess Koppleman did an excellent job reporting and Big Mama (Harriett "Tubby" Tubman - pictured to the right) did her best to show her love on camera.
Harriett "Tubby" Tubman is a 3-5 year old female who loves snuggling with people, treats and food, and most of all, loves her afternoon naps. She greets everyone with a kiss and a slow body wag. Harriett would love someone who will throw the tennis ball to her once in a while...and someone who will teach her to bring the ball back.
And we can't forget about Hercules. His story was first brought to you by Fox 4. Game Dog Guardian posted his intake video, which showed a scared and shut down dog.
Within a month, Hercules put the past behind him and is moving ahead with his new life. He has a new video up that shows his progress and a bio on our adoptable dogs page.
Here's to a great 2011 Hercules!
